“BODYBUILDERS HAVE BEEN GETTING SCREWED FROM DAY ONE, AND THAT’S WHAT I NEED TO TALK ABOUT TODAY.”

Here’s an example of what I’m talking about. When you go to a concert, you pay to watch a band perform. You bought a ticket to watch that band. They are the reason you are there, and they get paid to perform. What about when you go to a bodybuilding contest? It’s the same thing. You pay to watch bodybuilders compete. Except, the bodybuilders - the talent - do not get paid. So why are the bodybuilders not being paid? Can someone explain that to me?

The promoter makes money. He’s selling the tickets to the fans so they can come watch the contest. Every performer in the world gets paid. Why don’t bodybuilders? Instead, we charge the bodybuilders a fee to compete. We charge the fans a fee to get in. Why? Isn’t that greedy as hell? I mean, let's give back. These are people that are killing themselves to compete in this contest. They're doing everything they can to look their absolute best. These competitors put in the workouts. They take their All May You May, their Crea-TEN, and their EggWhite Crystals. Look at the time they put into eating. Not to mention what all this costs.

Now don’t get me wrong. Promoters, by all means, charge for the ticket sales. Make some money for yourself selling tickets. But don’t charge the bodybuilders a fee to compete!Don’t be greedy. Let them compete for free! I'm not saying you should pay them...even though that’s not a bad idea. Even though that’s how it works in every other industry except one: bodybuilding. In bodybuilding, it's okay to screw the competitors. Bottom line, it's not right, and it's unacceptable. Now, you made some money this year. That’s great. Let’s get a better venue for next year. That’s business - you make money and re-invest that money to make your business better.

In this business of bodybuilding, what they do instead is - make more money and get a smaller venue. Why? Because the smaller venue costs less. They make more profit. They put more profit in their pockets. It’s hard to believe how greedy these people can be. Everything is always about money. Come on, give something back. OK. Here’s one more point I need to make. What's the first thing that happens when an athlete in another sport turns pro? A pro athlete is paid, an amateur athlete is not paid. That's the difference.

Now, what happens when a bodybuilder turns pro? The first thing that happens is they get a bill in the mail for $200. Yep, that’s right. You have to pay $200 for your Pro card.Please explain to me why. After all, you're a professional athlete. You just became a pro. Why should you have to pay for your pro card? It makes little sense. The card should be free. It's insane, and a lot of people out there don't realize this is how it is.

“COME ON. ALL I’M TRYING TO DO IS MAKE THINGS RIGHT. AND YOU KNOW, PEOPLE OUT THERE...DON’T BE SO FUCKING GREEDY. GIVE BACK. I LOVE THIS SPORT. WE ALL LOVE THE SPORT. WHY DON’T WE ALL GIVE BACK AND MAKE IT AN EVEN BETTER SPORT? PLEASE, THINK ABOUT THIS SHIT.”
