I was always active as a kid. I played all kinds of sports. Going into my teen years is when I started to drift away from being an athlete. When I had my son a few years ago, I had put on weight and was not feeling my best. Struggling with anxiety, I decided to start doing YouTube workouts in the comfort of my home while my son was napping.
From there, I started to add barbells and dumbbells to my garage and discovered how much I loved to lift. People had started asking me if I was a competitor. It was a nice compliment but I had never considered competing. The more I thought about it, the more I wanted to do it to push myself out of my comfort zone. I wanted to do something I never thought I could do. With the help of a coach I decided to jump into my first competition 7 weeks out. I came in 1st place and after that, I was hooked. The most rewarding part of it all is when I hear someone say I motivate them.
Certified Personal Trainer
Before having my son and starting my fitness journey, I was heavily involved in working with dogs. I had a desire to help rehabilitate aggressive and anxious dogs. I had multiple jobs at dog daycares, dog walking companies, grooming, training, etc. I even went to school to become a dog trainer. I will always have a deep love for animals and hope to some day get more involved again.
